Mirza Naeini

Overview

Mirza-Naeini Charity, located in Naein-Isfahan, was officially established in 1999 by a board of trustees and board of directors (12 members in total) with a valid establishment license and activity license granted by the welfare organization. All the costs of the charity and even the salaries of the personnel and the caregivers are covered by the board of trustees and the board of directors, who work as unpaid volunteers. The charity’s mission is to support children both emotionally and financially with the help of dedicated personnel, including one supervisor, three instructors, one driver, and one cook. The instructors have finished their educational studies in Psychology or Educational Science.

The Mirza-Naeini charity started its activities by supporting 12 orphan boys aged 6-12 years old and has supported 100 boys over the years. Some of the children have been adopted over the years, and some have returned to their families. After the age of 12, the children are sent to another center, where they continue to receive care. The transfer happens under the supervision of experts from the welfare organization. The charity currently supports 12 underprivileged/orphan boys, all elementary schoolers.

What actions have been taken by Golestan's donors up to this point?

In the summer of 2022, Golestan supported the education of these children in a pilot program. We provided financial support for Mirza-Naeini to do the following for these 12 children:

• Registering these vulnerable children in 16-person extracurricular activity classes, including art and sport summer classes, to nurture their talents and feel like normal children.
• Holding a series of 19-person refresher classes for the school courses which these children find difficult and require additional assistance with.

What are we planning to do?

We are planning to continue an extensive personalized educational program for each of these children, which will include the following:

• Buying school books, supplies, backpacks, shoes/clothing and school uniforms at the beginning of the school year
• Providing three refresher classes (کلاس های تقویتی) throughout the year, for exam preparation during the first/second school semesters, and summer sessions
• Registering the children above 14 in skill set classes (کلاس های مهارت آموزی) to help them learn practical skills that will prepare them for the future - for example, tailoring classes, mechanics, etc.
• Registering the students in extracurricular activities classes like art and sports classes to provide a chance for them to know and nurture their talents like normal children
• Supplying supplemental teaching resources, including a pack of story books to encourage a lifelong love of reading

Our estimates show that we need about $2,500 USD to fully cover the educational needs of Naeen’s children (See Education Campaign’s page for the details).
