Mehr Zeynab is a charity in Bonab located in the province of East Azerbaijan. This center was established in 2006 and is mostly run by donations made by the local community. Ms. Shafayi is the founder and also the manager of the orphanage. She is a paramedic working for the local clinics and, back in 2000, decided to take care of an infant girl who lost her mother during delivery. This event led her to establish the orphanage in 2006. The orphanage currently houses 15 girls. It also helps about 41 labor children and children in foster homes and in homes of their far but poor relatives by covering their daily costs. Most of the kids in the orphanage are traumatized by the sudden loss of their parents or their abandonment. The orphanage’s staff includes professionals like psychologists and social workers who continually assess the children’s health and needs. Also, they pay special attention to the education of all of the supported children.
As mentioned, Mehr Zeynab Charity is supporting 56 vulnerable children. Here is a brief statistic about these children and what grades they are in:
In the summer of 2022, Golestan supported these children’s education in a pilot program. We provided financial support for Mehr Zeynab Charity to do the following for these 56 children:
Due to the complex economic situation, Mehr Zeynab Charity, which is run by receiving donations from local donors, is hardly able to cover its basic needs like food and clothing for these children. This leads to neglecting the educational needs of these 56 Children. We are planning to help this trusted local organization in the city of Bonab to cover these expenses. We are planning to continue an extensive personalized educational program for each of these children which will include the following:
Our estimates show that we need about $14,600 USD to fully cover the educational needs of Mehr Zeynab's children. These children need your donation and support to get a decent education, to be able to nurture their talents and become financially independent and functional members of society when they grow up. Your help will make a real difference in the lives of these children who have been deprived of a peaceful and normal life. Please consider donating, as your donation will alleviate their suffering.
