Overview

Atre Yas Nabavi, located in Shiraz-Fars, was officially established in 2012 through the support and donations of the public. The charity has two centers for supporting underprivileged/orphan kids aged 3-6 and 6-12. One of its current projects is constructing an advanced facility to accommodate underrepresented kids/orphans in Shiraz. This orphanage supports 110 vulnerable children’s education. Here are brief statistics about these children’s grades:

• Preschoolers: 20
• Elementary Schoolers: 71
• Middle Schoolers: 18
• High Schoolers: 1

What actions have been taken by Golestan's donors up to this point?

In the summer of 2022, Golestan supported these children’s education in a pilot program. We provided financial support for Atre Yas to do the following for these 110 children:

• Registering these vulnerable children in 180 person-extracellular activity classes, including art and sports summer classes, to nurture their talents and feel like normal children.
• Registering children above 14 years old in a 70-person-skill set improvement series of classes so that they become readier for the time leaving the orphanage and become independent.
• Holding 115 person-series of refresher classes for the school courses that these children have problems in.
• Purchasing 2 help books for these children (requested by local instructors).

What are we planning to do?

We are planning to continue an extensive personalized educational program for each of these children which will include the following:

• Buying school books, supplies, stationeries, and backpacks at the beginning of the school year
• Buying shoes/clothing and school uniforms at the beginning of the school year for these children
• Having three series of refresher classes (کلاس های تقویتی) in courses which each of the students have problems with before the exams of the first school semester (امتحانات بهمن ماه) and second school semester (امتحانات شهریور), and during summer 2023
• Registering the children above 14 in skill set classes (کلاس های مهارت آموزی) to become readier for the time of their independence, for example: tailoring classes mechanics, and etc.
• Registering the students in extracurricular activities classes like art and sports classes to provide a chance for them to nurture and know their talents like a normal child
• Book Supplements Teaching Resources
• Buying a pack of story books to introduce them to the concept of reading

Our estimates show that we need about $22,000 USD to fully cover the educational needs of the mentioned 110 children (See Education Campaign’s page for the details). These children need your donation and support to get a decent education, to be able to nurture their talents and become financially independent and functional members of society when they grow up.
